Jakarta, December 23, 2025 – One month after flash floods struck three provinces on the island of Sumatra—Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra—RedDoorz, a leading multi-brand accommodation platform in Southeast Asia, distributed aid to affected victims. RedDoorz partnered with the Ministry of Creative Economy (Ekraf)/Creative Economy Agency, as well as the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS).

The selection of Ekraf and BAZNAS as aid distribution partners was based on their operational capacity, field networks, and experience in disaster response. This was particularly crucial given the severe impact in Aceh and North Sumatra, which resulted in the disruption of several distribution routes and therefore required support from partners with strong and trusted networks.

The donation collected together with Ekraf was symbolically distributed at a refugee shelter in Bireuen, Aceh, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the presence of Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya. “The collaboration between Ekraf and RedDoorz in providing assistance during the initial post-disaster period demonstrates our shared commitment to responding to emergency situations quickly and in a coordinated manner, while also strengthening the role of the creative economy and tourism sectors in supporting early recovery and the economic sustainability of affected communities,” said Rian Firmansyah, Special Staff to the Minister of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia for Strategic Issues and Inter-Institutional Affairs.

Meanwhile, the fundraising campaign with BAZNAS was conducted from December 10 to 23, 2025. The funds collected through this collaboration will be prioritized to assist affected communities in North Sumatra.

Saidah Sakwan, Head of BAZNAS RI for Distribution and Utilization, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration. “BAZNAS welcomes the collaboration with RedDoorz in efforts to assist communities affected in Sumatra. Synergy between the philanthropic sector and companies such as this is very important to ensure that aid can be distributed accurately, quickly, and sustainably according to the needs on the ground,” said Saidah.

The flash floods that occurred in late November 2025 also affected several RedDoorz properties. The affected properties were located in Banda Aceh and Bireuen (Aceh Province), as well as Medan, Sibolga Regency, Central Tapanuli Regency, and South Tapanuli Regency (North Sumatra Province).

“Responding to the disaster, RedDoorz raised funds internally through the involvement of employees and property partners, as well as externally through public participation. The donations collected will be converted into support for public kitchens and medicines, particularly for RedDoorz property staff who were directly affected,” said Gusti Raganata, Head of Government Relations at RedDoorz.

“The decision to convert the donations into basic food packages or meals and medicines was also based on the consideration that these essential items can have a rapid and direct impact on the recovery process following the disaster,” Gusti added.

Entering the fourth week following the disaster, the death toll had surpassed 1,000, while hundreds of others were still reported missing or unaccounted for.

RedDoorz hopes that by partnering with Ekraf and BAZNAS, its fundraising efforts and distribution of donations can help accelerate the recovery of disaster-affected areas. “Through this assistance, RedDoorz also aims to demonstrate our empathy and convey the message that we are always with Sumatra and will continue to be present to help communities affected by disasters,” Gusti concluded.
