RedDoorz, Southeast Asia’s largest multi-brand hospitality and accommodation platform, announced a landmark partnership with ECPAT, a global network dedicated to ending the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, to reinforce child protection and guest safety across its regional property network.
Operating more than 4,000 properties across the region under its multi-brand portfolio, including RedDoorz, SANS, Urbanview, Sunerra, and The Lavana, the platform maintains a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and prostitution within its partner network. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader ‘Safe Stay for All Guests’ vision, establishing guest safety and child protection as a shared responsibility among corporate leadership, property owners, and hotel staff.
“Safe Stay means more than providing a safe room. It means creating an environment where every guest, especially children and vulnerable individuals, is protected. Through our partnership with ECPAT, we are strengthening preventive measures across our network and equipping our property partners with the knowledge and tools to identify risks and respond appropriately,” said Mohit Gandas, Country Director, RedDoorz Indonesia.
Andy Ardian, National Coordinator of ECPAT Indonesia, said that child protection in tourism is a shared responsibility. “We applaud RedDoorz for taking this vital step by joining ECPAT to embed proactive safeguarding systems into the heart of Southeast Asian hospitality.”
To operationalize this commitment, RedDoorz is introducing the SHIELD (Safeguarding Hospitality through Integrity, Ethics, and Lasting Diligence) Program across its ecosystem. Under SHIELD, RedDoorz is strengthening five core operational commitments across its property network: mandatory guest identity verification for all adults at check-in in compliance with regional regulations; strict child protection check-in protocols requiring verified parental or guardian consent; a centralized RedDoorz Safety Committee offering immediate assistance to guests in danger across any channel; transparent use of CCTV monitoring restricted strictly to common areas; and clear, testable physical safety and hygiene standards enforced through continuous property audits.
As part of this commitment, RedDoorz will officially join The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism (The Code). Through its membership, RedDoorz will strengthen formal child-protection procedures, conducting mandatory staff training, extending safeguarding standards across its supply chain, raising awareness among travelers, collaborating with key stakeholders, and publishing annual progress reports.
“We're proud to partner with ECPAT, whose relentless commitment to protecting children across our industry sets a standard we're committed to upholding. We're bringing our resources, expertise, and operational support to amplify their impact in Indonesia, and we're committed to scaling this partnership across Southeast Asia, starting with the Philippines,” said Amit Saberwal, Founder and CEO of RedDoorz.
RedDoorz’s safeguarding approach is also supported by robust property onboarding and compliance requirements. All partner properties are required to meet applicable licensing requirements, including Business Registration Number. Beyond regulatory compliance, RedDoorz also recognizes the importance of respecting local community values and norms. Where applicable, properties within the network may implement Syariah-based hospitality standards, including specific guest and accommodation requirements.
To support the implementation of these safeguards, RedDoorz is also working with ECPAT and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to provide child-protection training for property owners and staff, covering risk identification, preventive measures, and appropriate reporting and escalation procedures.
RedDoorz will also establish dedicated reporting mechanisms, including a public Help Centre where guests, witnesses, and local communities can report incidents, alongside 24/7 support for urgent safety and welfare concerns. Property owners and staff will also receive an Emergency Response Pocket Book covering child safety, emergency handling, fire incidents, and police coordination.
To ensure accountability, RedDoorz is establishing key performance metrics focused directly on incident prevention. The company will track operational success through a 12-month zero-incident target metric alongside monitoring total incidents as a percentage of overall bookings to maintain continuous oversight as the business expands across the ASEAN region. Through these proactive measures, RedDoorz aims to set a new benchmark for ethical, safe, and responsible hospitality throughout Southeast Asia.
